Our Story
The Department of Commerce is the chartering governmental agency that chairs the Council with an industry co-chair involved in the design, research, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and certification of uncrewed and autonomous systems. Industry is a valuable partner in supporting the USIC effort to foster partnership between government and industry. State legislators will also often turn to industry for their opinions on legislation or when they are considering new programs. The industry co-chair provides unbiased advocacy. The co-chairs engage legislators on a number of subjects to advance the use of uncrewed and autonomous systems within the state.
